The first class that I have observed this morning was the class with Mr. Wawan with the 1st grade pupils. Before he started the class, he asked me if I could teach this class, I was like unsure if I will be able to say Yes or No; Yes because this is my purpose why I am here and No because the students could not understand English. I have learned a little bahasa Indonesian terms and phrases but it is not enough to carry the whole class. Well, I just told Mr. Wawan that I will help him in facilitating the class for now.
I was challenged this day to learn basaha Indonesia more than I did. This afternoon, I grabbed my notebook and list down bahasa Indonesian phrases and translate it into English, I also challenged myself to speak in bahasa Indonesia whenever someone is asking me a question.
It is not easy but it will be possible. The students in the room where I am staying are always talking to me, so I have planned to practice bahasa Indonesia with them and I felt good whenever they understand what I am talking about, at least a little improvement everyday would make a difference!
This day also during lunch, one student (her name is Citu) gave me a gift! I opened the gift after I arrived at the guesthouse and the gift consists of a notebook, 2 ball pens, a sharpener with eraser and 2 key chains!

Anyway, after the class, there is a “market time” every afternoon at the school campus where the students sell some food or snacks! What a nice practice to promote entrepreneurship among young students!!!
