Start small, expect more!

This morning during the grade 4 P. E. class, Mr. Wawan started the class the normal way as he does, but this time, I tried to pick up some words from him as he is saying to the class. I tried to pick up some single words that would be helpful for me when I will be teaching the students. I also asked him about the meaning of the words that he have said to the class while saying instructions.

I have picked up some words like the word “warm up” (pemanasan), “beris” (line), “siapa” (ready), and so on, I guess this words will help me manage the class flow, even though it would be somewhat like a puzzle for me to construct the words for the class flow, at least the students could understand me for a little bit.

I have gained just this morning some few words that would be helpful for me in the class, but I also want to gain more words every class observations that means that I have to expect more!

This morning, I have observed another program of the school! Students do have a one hour time by doing something out of their creativity, they could do whatever they want to make just like constructing something out of a lego, making something out of popsicle sticks, making a hand-made notebook cover and etc. then, after a sometime, there would be a set schedule or school event that the students’ works or products are going to be exhibited! What a nice way to discover the creativity of the students!

This program is just a small start or small thing for the students, but we are to expect more from the students if they will continue on their creativity until in the future! And sure they will!

This evening, one of my buddies (Yoga) took me to Alun-Alun and Tugu Jogja to see a “night life” in that area. He let me tried walking between the two trees in a blindfold (they said if you did it, then you may wish and that wish will be answered). I’m glad that I was able to do it on my third attempt. It was quite fun!
