Challenge Accepted!

September 9, 2019

This is going to be the first day of my last week and probably the start of the most pressured and challenging week.

Well, let me tell you what; an unexpected expectation happened this day in which this day was the day that I taught the students independently for the first time! Actually my schedule for teaching independently/demonstration/observation will be on Wednesday and Thursday, but the other Sports teacher was not present so Mr. Wawan needs to handle his class while I was assigned by Mr. Wawan to handle his class!

So the lesson that I prepared for Wednesday and Thursday was used during this day, glad that I was prepared in terms of the lesson flow but unluckily, I was not prepared in terms of familiarizing phrases in Bahasa but anyway, I did accept the assignment to me cheerfully!

I’m glad that I was able to save an electronic copy of my lesson plans in my phone and I tried reading the phrases in Bahasa at first to the students but in the middle of the class, I tried to do body language instead of reading it in Bahasa in order to save time. It was challenging at first at I am glad that I was able to do it! From time to time, I am asking Mr. Wawan at the other side of the school ground about some terms for my instruction.

My first lesson was about the basic skills in playing soccer. I followed the planned games and drills and I am thankful for the students that they do understand me if I cannot say the words that I am trying to say. Well, I surpassed the challenge of the day but I am expecting more challenges within this week! The challenge is not easy (for me) but it is possible!
